Marjorie Taylor Greene Blasts ‘Late Stage MAGA’ After Woman Attacked at Trump Rally in Ohio

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene escalated her feud with President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement this week, calling it “disgusting and unrecognizable” after video from a Trump rally showed a woman in the crowd being attacked.

“Late stage MAGA is so disgusting and unrecognizable to me, and I find this shocking as one who attended more Trump rallies than I can count,” Greene wrote on X on Wednesday.

The Georgia Republican was reacting to video from Tuesday’s rally in Youngstown, Ohio. According to footage from the event, a female protester wearing a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt stood up and was physically attacked by multiple men before security removed her.

Youngstown Mayor Derrick McDowell, an independent, condemned the incident in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

“Regardless of someone’s political affiliation or their point of view, every person attending a public event has the right to do so without fear of being assaulted or threatened,” McDowell said. “I condemn this senseless conduct unequivocally.”

Rally security was provided by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and the Secret Service.

The rally was briefly delayed, and Trump mocked the woman as she was escorted out, calling her a “very low-class protester.”

Apparently unaware the protester was a woman, Trump also took aim at her weight, referring to her as a “fat guy” who needed to go on a diet.

“They’re all paid. They get paid by the lefties in order to destroy our country. They’re scum. But he’s going back home to mom,” Trump said.

Greene, once one of the president’s most vocal and loyal allies, tore into both Trump and his supporters in a lengthy post on X.

She described the protester as being beaten by the men around her, adding that they “probably call themselves Christians.” Greene also criticized Trump for mocking the woman’s appearance and suggesting she was a paid protester, using her own insult to describe the president’s weight.

Greene noted that the woman was thrown out while the men who attacked her were allowed to stay.

According to Greene, MAGA rallies once drew people who supported releasing the Epstein files, defended women and would intervene if a woman were attacked. Now, she argued, what remains of the movement is made up of people imitating their leader by attacking women, mocking their looks and turning on the victims of elites.

Greene went on to call MAGA a “cult” and argued it does not reflect Christian values, claiming Trump himself is not a Christian even though most of his rally attendees would identify as such. She closed by calling the president a wolf in sheep’s clothing who has led the flock astray.

The Epstein files were part of what drove Greene’s eventual break with Trump and MAGA, along with the Iran war and other issues.

Greene has criticized the administration for heavily redacting the files it released related to convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein. Trump, meanwhile, has brushed aside calls to release more and has dismissed theories about Epstein trafficking for high-profile associates as a “hoax.”
