Piers Morgan Debate Explodes as Ana Kasparian Clashes With Retired General, Former IDF Spokesman Over Iran Strikes

A fiery debate over the joint U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign against Iran erupted Monday on Piers Morgan Uncensored, with tempers flaring and accusations flying as panelists sparred over American casualties and the broader direction of the conflict.

The heated exchange began after Young Turks host Ana Kasparian raised concerns about the deaths of six U.S. soldiers during the war, arguing that the Trump administration had been “dragged into” the conflict on Israel’s behalf.

Retired U.S. General Mark Kimmitt, who served in the George W. Bush administration, pushed back sharply.

“Ana, please quit using the tropes on American soldiers,” Kimmitt said. “I’ve had to bury seven American soldiers. They went into the battlefield.”

Kasparian challenged that characterization, asking, “How is it a trope? How is it a trope to see American soldiers die on behalf of Israel’s wars? How is that a trope? Explain that to me.”

Kimmitt responded with a laugh and declined to elaborate further. “I’m not gonna dignify that with a response,” he said.

Kasparian then cited comments from Israeli media regarding an incident in Kuwait involving American forces reportedly coming under “friendly fire.” Referring to remarks made on Channel 12 by Niv Raskin, she quoted him as saying, “We need to emphasize this is an incident involving American forces and not, heaven forbid, an incident involving Israeli forces.”

“What do you have to say to that?” she asked.

Jonathan Conricus, a former spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, interjected to question the relevance of the cited remarks.

“And why is he representative of anything, Ana? Who makes him representative of anything?” Conricus asked.

Kasparian responded that Raskin was a “huge figure in Israeli media,” suggesting the comments reflected broader attitudes. Conricus dismissed that claim, calling Raskin “a talking head on a morning show.”

As the exchange grew more intense, host Piers Morgan attempted to steer the conversation back on track. Kasparian pressed her point, asking why it should be considered a “trope” to express concern about American troops involved in what she described as “endless, nonsensical wars.”

When Conricus again interrupted, asking how often she had visited Arlington National Cemetery to pay respects to fallen American service members, Kasparian lashed out, calling him a “terrorist piece of crap” and saying she was addressing the general, not him.

Morgan urged the panel to lower the temperature. “Please keep the ad-hominems down,” he said, before once again asking Kimmitt to respond to Kasparian’s central question. The retired general declined, repeating, “I’m not gonna dignify that with a response.”

“The general’s chosen not to respond. That’s his right,” Morgan concluded.

The contentious debate unfolded as President Donald Trump warned Sunday that there would “likely be more” U.S. casualties as a result of the conflict with Iran. Meanwhile, Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama addressed the loss of American troops by describing it as an unfortunate but inherent cost of war.

“It’s just unfortunate that happened,” Tuberville said. “But this is war — it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.”

As the war continues and emotions run high, the explosive exchange on Morgan’s program underscored the sharp divisions surrounding America’s role in the escalating conflict.
